Melanie Nelson

SENIOR CASE MANAGER

Melanie Nelson is a Senior Case Manager and has worked at ZLG since April of 2019.  She is fluent in both English and Spanish. Her favorite cases are Cancellation of Removal, Adjustments of Status, U Visa and Naturalization cases.

Melanie was drawn to immigration legal work because of her desire to help family and friends who were not born in this country.  Most of her family, including her parents, are immigrants.  She is part of the first generation born in the United States and feels that gives her some insight into how immigrants maneuver in new countries and what assimilation looks like to different people.  She has worked at two other immigration law firms in addition to ZLG.

Melanie enjoys learning about people, why they choose to come to the United States and their reasons for wanting to remain here.  She is driven by her pride in producing high quality work for clients.  She says, “It is so rewarding to help someone obtain status and the ability to travel back to their home country after several years or decades of living far away from their family, and still be able to return to the United States, where they have built a life.”

In her free time, Melanie enjoys learning new music, languages, crafts, and more, as well as watching movies and visiting museums.
